I want to fly like an eagle to the sea Fly like an eagle let my spirit carry me~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Elita was rummaging around the library slash pool, looking for a certain book. She remembered that she had put the book back in the library after reading it. But she couldn’t remember the exact place where she had left it. She had currently just gotten back from her little outing that lead her to the prince of New Earth V, who was currently waiting in her room. Or she hoped he was waiting in her room, and not wondering about the ship. He could easily get lost and not knowing that the ship is in fact alive could mistake him for an intruder. She did not save him from the humans to have the TARDIS take action against him. Plus she hasn’t quite told anyone about him yet. How could she when she hasn’t seen them around since her return.
She moved to another shelf, after not finding the book she needed. She was sure there was a reference to read another book for more information, but for the life of her she couldn’t remember the title. She sighed in frustration when she still could not locate the book. What the library needed was a librarian. Or the Doctor to show up and help her. If not TARDIS. Well, she thought on that some, and decided that the ship could turn up and point her in the right direction. However, the hologram was absent just like the rest of her ‘family’. Yes, she considered the Doctor and Amy as family. The Doctor had taken care of her from the time he saved her from that alien hybrid that wanted to eat her, to the time he had left her with Amy. Then Amy had taken over caring for her until she darted back aboard the ship. She was not going to be left behind again. Oh no. She should have done that the first time he came back, but did she listen to herself? No, she didn’t.
Elita then saw the spine of a book that looked like the one she was after, and reached for it. Not bothering to do it the right way, and get off to move the ladder before ascending it again. Instead, she twisted her body and reached behind her for it. She felt the weight of the gravity shift, and before she knew what had happened she was standing on the ladder. Which itself was standing straight up on it’s feet. Great. Now she has to deal with comical nature of walking the ladder around trying to land it so she can get off. However, the first wobble got her closer to the pool. Then suddenly she lost her balance, and landed in the deep end of the pool with a big splash that was sure to attract someone’s attention.

i will be chasing the starlight until the end of my life - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The TARDIS console was doing it again. There were little flashing light things, and he couldn’t quite figure out why. Sometimes, he had an inkling of an idea that she just did things to mess with him. Surely there weren’t that many problems, going on all the time like that. But maybe there were. The Doctor ran around the console, trying to appease the TARDIS in a way that would make the silly lights stop flashing at him. He frowned as the lights continued. “What is it? C’mon, dear, really,” he almost drawled, desperately pleading with the TARDIS. He stopped, looking around manically, unsure of what to do. “Okay,” he said, putting one hand on his hip and running the other through his crazy mop of hair. “What could it be?” He went over to the scanner, pulling it around to face him. He typed in a few commands, trying to figure out what the source of the light was. It was like the TARDIS was trying to tell him something. But what?
Frustrated, he gave up for now – but that didn’t make him any less cross. The Doctor left the console room, wandering off to find either Amy or Elita to complain to. If they were going to be around on his ship, then he felt he had the right to left off some steam at them. It wasn’t as though he really thought badly of them travelling with him – he wanted them with him. But the Doctor did strange things when he was upset, including taking his companions and friends for granted. Well, friends were supposed to listen to you when you were mad, right? That’s all he saw it as.
He managed to make it quite near the library when he heard a loud splash. Raising an eyebrow at the sound, he began to walk a little faster. Maybe Amy had indeed discovered that the swimming pool was in the library. He would have liked it if she had asked if she could use the library/swimming pool first, though. Alright, that was probably just from his being cross, too. He entered the room to see no one quite above the surface of the water, though arms kind of flailing about from having fallen in. Having the absence of red hair, he could only presume that the pool’s victim was Elita. “Elita!” he called, rushing to the side of the pool. He waited for a moment to see if she’d surface, holding out a hand to help her out if she did. Otherwise, he was ready to cast off the tweed jacket and kick of those boots to dive in… “Elita?”

I want to fly like an eagle to the sea Fly like an eagle let my spirit carry me~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Elita sunk to the bottom of the pool for a brief moment, before the ladder fell on top of her. She didn’t panic as she didn’t have to breath like Amy would, but she didn’t know how to control her body like someone of the Doctor’s age. Granted she was like ten when he left her with Amy, and she really didn’t much instruction in his absence. So she was just naïve about some things she is able to do, like all the abilities she should have learned in the Time Academy. She knew she could control her respiratory system, but the problem is that she doesn’t know how to do it. So of course she was pinned to the bottom of the pool under a very heave library ladder, and she of course was looking up at the surface toward the ceiling. She groaned inwardly when she saw the Doctor’s face peer over the edge and extend his hand to help her out. That is if she ever made it up to the surface.
She placed both of her hands on the ladder and attempted to lift it up off of her. She was determined not to drown, and right in front of her guardian. She managed to lift it up off of her a few inches, and move it to the side the same distance. However she was still pinned, so she tried again and again and again until she was free. She let her Gallifreyan physiology takeover from there, and lift her to the surface. Once her head broke free, she gasped in air, out of habit, even though she really didn’t need to. Not yet at least, but she of course had spent most of life living like a human. Granted, 14 of those years were her pretending to be one and not actually being one, but the point was that she was used to acting like a human.
Elita let herself float for a moment, in a human effort to catch her breath. Then she looked at the Doctor who was holding out his hand at her. She reached for it, but she didn’t know how to swim so she was just reaching her hand out towards his. ”I think now is the time to say, I don’t know how to swim. And thankfully I can float.” She told him and splashed around in a vain effort to get closer to the offered hand. She was sure she was comical looking as she splashed about in an effort to get closer to her guardian, but she was sure she was only succeeding in putting more distance between the two of them instead.

i will be chasing the starlight until the end of my life - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The Doctor was just about to throw off the tweed jacket when he saw Elita start to float to the surface. He realized, guiltily, that she probably hadn’t known how to properly make use of her respiratory system like he did, a Time Lord of over 900 years. He grimaced slightly, making a mental note to teach her some things she would have never gotten to on Gallifrey itself. He had to ensure that his charge would not die on his watch, at least, just like any companion – or even more so. He leaned forward as she came out of the water, holding his hand out further for her. “C’mon, Elita,” he said, shaking his head with a bit of amusement as she started to go further away. “Towards me, not away.”
At least she was alright for now, or at least close to being alright. He could be in the water in a second if she started to go under again, and she would be safe. “Just slow down a bit. Turn towards me and… paddle like a dog, if you must, but just stop flailing about like that! … That’s it… Now just try to kick your feet a little to propel yourself… I’ll teach you more properly how to swim and breathe and all those jollies later, now, yeah?” He reached forward the last bit he could, grabbing her by the wrist and pulling her to him. He helped her out of the water and onto the ledge, staying kneeling beside her to see if she needed anything else. “You know, you really should have learned how to swim before diving in,” he said with a little bit of dryness. He smiled at her nonetheless.
Perhaps he should have been a little more worried. Because of the ladder, the whole thing was obviously an accident. If he hadn’t been passing by, Elita might have drowned – the only other Time Lord in existence. He didn’t want to seem like the overbearing father, but he had the urge just then to chastise her a bit. He held himself back. What did he think he was doing? She was travelling with him. He was her guardian, sure, but that didn’t mean he should treat her like a little kid. Even if she was one the last time he saw her… He looked over at her, a little confused. He had regenerated and hadn’t even really had time to get used to her yet in this body or with her additional years. She had waited on the slow path while he was gone for fourteen years. This was honestly one of the first times that he had stopped and talked to her since she had come back onboard. He felt a little guilty about that as well.
“So, uh,” the Doctor starting, realizing how rubbish he was about all of this sort of stuff, “what exactly were you doing, anyway?” He glanced down at the ladder. He would have to figure out how to get it out of the pool, later. Perhaps the TARDIS could help him somehow. He returned his attention back to Elita. He sat down, bringing his legs around, awkwardly situating them before him. He leaned his elbow on his knees and rested the rest of his weight on the ground behind him. “Looking for a book or something?”

Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin' into the future I want to fly like an eagle to the sea~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Elita flailed about in the pool, splashing as she went. She was sure she was causing some amusement for the Doctor as he watched her try to get herself closer to the edge. She somehow managed to face and look at him when he told her to go towards him and not the opposite direction. Did he think she was doing this on purpose? The only thing keeping her from going under is her buoyancy due to her being a Gallifreyan Time Lord or in this case Lady. And she was of course glad for one thing, she didn’t feel the temperature like Amy would. She was glad that she was not human, for she was sure she would feel the difference in temperature right now, and perhaps ended up shivering to keep herself warm in response. She tried to calm herself down and think through this situation clearly.
“Just slow down a bit. Turn towards me and… paddle like a dog, if you must, but just stop flailing about like that! … That’s it… Now just try to kick your feet a little to propel yourself… I’ll teach you more properly how to swim and breathe and all those jollies later, now, yeah? You know, you really should have learned how to swim before diving in,”
She did as he instructed. She stopped flailing around, splashing the water about. She then began to paddle like a dog, and kicked her feet to get herself slowly over to the edge. She felt immensely better when he grabbed her wrist and pulled her from the water, setting her on the ledge, and felt a bit embarrassed about the whole thing when she realized that he was staying next to her. The smile was something that did not match his tone, and she wondered if he was upset with her. She wasn’t a child by human means, she was only 24, but she was still considered a child or would be on Gallifrey. So she was either an adult or a child, all depending on which planet she would base this logic on. And like all children, she didn’t like to make her guardian upset with her. She suddenly found herself giggling to herself as she realized that the TARDIS and her had that quality in common. Wanting to make the Doctor happy with them.
”So,uh, what exactly were you doing, anyway? Looking for a book or something?”
Elita looked at him as he sat down next to her. She followed his eyes down to the ladder at the bottom of the pool where it rested. ”I’m sorry, it was an accident.” She muttered an apology at her guardian and moved a bit away from the edge of the pool in a matter that said she was indeed sorry. She then looked back at him, still embarrassed about the whole thing. ”Yeah, I was…um…looking for a book. One that the TARDIS showed me a bit ago.” She finally answered him, wondering if she should tell him about the prince that was suppose to be in her room waiting for her.
