The TARDIS waited till everyone left the TARDIS hull before switching on the chameleon circuit and activating it. The flicker between big blue box to humanoid form felt a little weird. Suddenly she could feel everything inside her shift, looking at her clothing she adjusted the navy blazer, tugging down the blue polo shirt that was under it, adjusted the navy bowtie, and fixed the black skirt. She made sure everything in her attire was set correctly and despite the bright blue hair, she looked relatively normal. With the help of the perception filter, people would choose not to notice her, they wouldn’t be able to focus. She mover forward quickly, her blue heeled boots clicking against the ground as she moved forward. She knew exactly how much time she had before the Doctor returned to the spot with Elita and Amy. She needed to time this perfectly. She moved quickly, eyeing the time on Big Ben with every striding second. Everything about time was crucial and while she wasn’t part of this time line, she was about to make herself part of the time line. She took a deep breath, though she really didn’t breath. Noting the smells the oxygen levels, everything about this planet was so distracting. But she had to focus. She explore another time, but the time was not this time. This time needed to happen.
She had a feeling, a disturbance in time that caused her to feel sick, deep in her cloister bell, even in her eye of harmony. The time vortex quivered and everything seemed so…off balance. That only happened a few times, so what did the time machine do? She looked into it. She put her mind to work and listened to her inner workings and the time vortex. She was all of time and space, she knew everything and what she needed to do suddenly became clear. He was back. She knew the Doctor wouldn’t approve of her going after this oncoming storm herself, but she would not allow him to come near her thief again. This was to be stopped, right here, right now. But the TARDIS was not going to harm the Master, no…the Doctor would be even more cross with her if she murdered a Timelord, even one that had caused him so much pain over the years. She wasn’t about to do that.
Her stride came to a stop and the clacking of her heels also stopped, driving her attention downward to her feet. She jumped up and down, the skirt flouncing outward and her heels clicking on the ground with each bounce, ”Do all shoes make this much noise…? she asked herself, ”Shoes…” she jogged in place but snapped her attention upward as the bright blue eyes flashed. ”He’s almost here.” she waited by the bench ever so patiently, eyeing the spot where the man would start walking toward her. She knew every direction he could go and which one he would take…she knew who he was and what he could be. He was something that caused pain and panic. He was a force to be reckoned with…well…so was she.
”Stop.” she crossed immediately in his path, stepping into his timeline. She felt it, she felt the time vortex whirl as it changed his course and she felt everything in his path suddenly change. ”Master.” she stood up tall, though he was still taller than her, she was only a bit shorter. ”You are the Master, correct?” she thought so, his face was the same. Why was his face the same? He turned her into a paradox. That really hurt! Yet, the Master keeping the same face? What trick was this?

Thump…Thump…Thump… Thump… The sounds within his mind gave his walk a sort of rhythm as he moved through one of the worst parts of town. His eyes darted this way and that. He felt as if he were being watched, or followed, or… hunted. He picked up his pace, looking around furtively. Every once in a while he would see his fellow humans partaking of their shady practices; a drug dealer here, a weapons dealer there, a prostitute, a punk, a young filthy child without its mother, and many a bum, vagrant, and homeless wanderer. They all lived here; breed here, like cockroaches they swarmed for even the smallest of tidbits. It was both revolting and fascinating how the human mind worked.
The man’s face was shrouded in a look of misery and some unknown, intangible, and source-less fear. He was a man with no home, no hope, failing health, and worst of all no memory of who he really was. Sometimes the man clutched at the fabric of the dark, dirty, charcoal colored fabric of his hoodie. Catching every ounce of warmth it provided. His jeans were worn and faded, his trainers dark with the decay of the streets he walked day in a day out.Thump…Thump…Thump… Thump…
His pale hair was shaggy, longer then it normally was… or at least he thought it was, un-kept, and left to its own devices. It had been years since he cared about appearance. He was but a nameless man, a lost soul, a ghost of his formal self, seeking something that he couldn’t remember. Some tangible proof that he was more than his own imagination. He was cold, miserable, and above all else, the man was ever so tired. He was tired of running from a faceless, nameless horror. He tired of feeling in the depths of the night, that the faceless and nameless horror was actually himself.
A past life if felt like. It was something that he couldn’t put his fingers on. But something was moving in the dark. It was something familiar and yet strange. His eyes looked out and searched for its source. There was a vague recognition in the feelings that washed over him; feelings of a better time, a greater time, and a time when he was someone, when he had… power. But with the feeling came something else, something unwanted. He wanted to clutch at his head a scream. The noise within the deep, dark, recesses of his mind thundered in agonizing crescendo.
“Stop,” A voice said, seeming to materialize out of nowhere. The man was not expecting a punk girl who looked as if she had just stepped out of a night club to just pop up in front of him and he almost fell over himself to keep from mowing her down where she stood. “Master? Master what?” He replied startled and confused. “Do I know you?” The man shook his head, “no, no… I’m not a master of anything…” he muttered, taking a step sideways in an attempt to walk around the strange blue haired young woman. “Must have the wrong man, yes, that’s it. Wrong man, must go away, the drums… the drums… you make the drums too loud. Must find something…can’t remember,” continued saying all the while wondering what it was he was looking for, he had forgotten. Something lost, that’s it.

The female straightened her blazer, seemingly trying to appear tough when she very well knew the Master could disassemble her with the wave of his hand if he wanted to. Very aware that he could very easily cause her so much pain like he had before. She put on a brave face, sticking her nose up as he stopped, nearly falling over. She would get to him before the Doctor did. He might be angry that she was designating what he needed to know. But she knew everything and she refused to look onto the Timelord’s paths to see when they crossed, she rather not see what damage the Master would induce and instead stop it right then and there before it had the ability to breathe life. Her hands clenched into fists at her side, keeping her brave face as he seemingly acted confused. The TARDIS interface kept a telepathic interface even now. But all she could hear was the drums. The vicious beating of the Time Vortex that was her own heart, her ‘heart beat’ or the Vortex, matched the Timelord’s four count beat that was in his head.
He didn’t know her. Logical. She never had this casing before, this disguise, her perception filter was off, but even the Master could look past that if it were on. She seemed confused, almost resorting into looking onto his timeline, but decided against it. ”That’s…” well it wasn’t his name, his name was something different, ”It’s what you’re called.” she said very forward and bluntly. Something wasn’t right, she inhaled, actually taking a sample of the air as she breathed in. The machine then eyed the Master. ”No. You’re not. But that is what they call you.” she repeated. He didn’t know who he was, and the TARDIS couldn’t get past the heavy drumming that was now ringing in his head to see heads or tails of what the Master was thinking. Things suddenly felt very dangerous, so very dangerous. She raised her hands, making sure he couldn’t get past her. There was no way she was letting him out of her sights. She did make the drums louder, her heart was the vortex that rang in his head…She couldn’t help that…
”You know me. I know you.” she clarified, almost unsure why she was trying to make him remember. He was less of a threat if he didn’t know who she was. The TARDIS stiffened, ”I can help you find what you’re looking for.” The TARDIS expressed, before feeling like she wanted to vworp back in time and erase that moment. ”I’m very sure I have the right person.” so sure, the drums, the sound, his face. ”I want to help you.” yet it was such a lie. But it was what her Doctor would want her to say.

Thump… Thump… Thump… Thump… It was ever so difficult to look for something when it was unclear as to what you where looking for in the first place. It was something, some essential part of him that had been stolen some months ago. Even unknown to himself he was following a cold trail that gave him a hint, a clue, a feeling that he was on the right path. Sometimes he felt as if he was close enough to touch it and at other times it felt as if he was looking for something that was on the other side of the world.
Thump… Thump… Thump… Thump… The man stopped his mutterings and thoughts, he stopped his attempts at getting around her and he looked once again at the young woman. She seemed slightly confused and even more apprehensive. There was something familiar about her. “The Master,” the words sounded both strange and yet intoxicating. For some reason he liked it. It sounded right coming from his lips and he smiled. “That’s my name?” He questioned. He had to admit to himself that he kind of liked it.
Thump… Thump… Thump… Thump… He frowned at the woman when she said that he knew her and her him. “If I know you then why don’t I know you? Huh?” He asked staring at her as if it was all some sort of trick. “You can help can you? How? I can’t even remember what I am looking for so how can you help me find it?” Some part of him thought as ridiculous as it might have sounded; that he was looking for his mind. “I’m not so sure you have the right person young woman and why would you want to help me anyways… makes no sense if you ask me… no sense at all.”
